WINE TASTING 22nd November
HRC supported the Herefordshire School games this year by hosting an Indoor Rowing tent in the activity village. Thanks to Gideon Bramble and Lucy Meredith for setting up the ergos, and connecting them together through a TV display that allowed the kids to race against each other. Hundreds of children had the opportunity to try out rowing in a safe and fun way.
Take a look at the two page article in the HEREFORD TIMES, or on line in the link provided. Some great shots of our event including a mass photo of competitors in front of our club house, and a nice write up of the winners from the Herefordshire clubs - HRC, Ross and HCS.
While the Juniors were at NSR, the masters represented HRC at Monmouth Rowing club.
On the Saturday we had Yvette and Linda (Mas E 2x) in a W 2x against Cardiff city who proved too fast for our ladies.
On the Sunday we had the following crews
Mark, Nigel, Jason, Mike P & Beth competed in a MasD4+ against Taunton (MasC4+), then Staines (MasD4+), then beat Avon County (MasD4+) in a brilliantly won event. This crew had only rowed once before, but the spirit of Korky was strong again, giving us our second victory in this boat.
Linda, yvette, Kath, & Karen in Mas 4x- took on the City of Swansea.
The Preedy’s in their Mas C 2x took on Taunton in a close heat, and then took on Bristol Ariel in a very close final, where the ladies were being closed down, but also nudged out of lan, but V kept her cool and the umpires moved BA back on course and the Preedy's maintained their lead to win.
Our J15 4+ with Jake, Henry, Alfie, Dan and Maisey performed out of their skins on the friday of the National Schools regatta. They achieved an amazing Silver medal position, with their qualifying time achieving a new course record!
National Schools Regatta
HRC masters rowing continues from strength to strength with another unbeaten performance at Worcester Spring Regatta. Not only did we win the three events, but we won "Korkies" first official race. The boat proved its speed, and the memory of Keith "Korky" Lawrence was enough to keep the opposition from getting close!
MasF4+ (Mike, Clive, JBL, JM and Lucy) beat Evesham E, and then Taunton E.
MasC4+ (Jim, Jason, Nigel, Mark & Beth) beat Warwick. KORKIES first win
MasE8+ beat Evesham

May 2019 Winners!
Our Junior crews will be competing at the Ball Cup South on Sunday 12th May. We have entered 7 crews, with 1 crew rejected due to logistics, and they range from a J13 Double up to a J18 single.
The purpose of the Ball Cup Regatta is to allow the schools and clubs who cannot semi-final or final at national events to compete against each other on a multilane course. The overriding aim of the Ball Cup is to give small and emerging clubs and their emerging competitors a chance to experience true competition and the chance to win.
Racing members - We will be competing at Worcester regatta on Saturday 18th May, and Monmouth Regatta on 25/26th May. We already have crews entered, but please contact me or your coach to discuss attending. Be quick as they close soon!
