The 2022 Boston Marathon is an upcoming marathon race scheduled to be held in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 18, 2022. It will be the 126th running of the race. All participants are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The field is limited to 30,000 runners.

The 2022 Boston Marathon kicks off at 9:02 a.m. with the men’s wheelchair race. The scheduled starting times continue with

women’s wheelchair race starting at 9:05 a.m.;

handcycle and duo participants race starting at 9:30 a.m.;

professional men start at 9:37 a.m.;

professional women start at 9:45 a.m.;

para-athletics divisions starts at 9:50 a.m.;

Wave 1 starts at 10 a.m.;

Wave 2 starts at 10:25 a.m.;

Wave 3 starts at 10:50 a.m.; and

Wave 4 starts 11:15 a.m.

CBS Boston’s WBZ-TV provides live wire-to-wire coverage of the historic race. WBZ-TV will cover Boston Marathon news, features, and athlete interviews.

Live race coverage on WBZ-TV will air from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, with a race re-broadcast on myTV38 on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.

Nationally, live race coverage will be broadcast on USA Network from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET.

A primetime encore replay of the race will air on Olympic Channel at 8 p.m. ET.
